Recently, I asked my self this question:
Are there similar actions actors take who work across from the stars?
The chasm a new actor must cross to work with stars can be daunting – so much so, many actors get discouraged and defeated. And, as my acting teacher Warren Robertson used to say, they go off and raise chickens.
I know how powerful a new actor’s dream is. I know how foolish it might sound to those around you. And I know how difficult it can be to continue to believe in yourself rejection after rejection while working a job that has nothing to do with what you want.
I decided to review what i had observed after 32 years of coaching actors. I made notes from the days of my small acting school in Vancouver’s Gastown to teaching actors across Canada and beyond, like Nairobi, Cape Town and Lagos. That action revealed some interesting insights into what actions help actors get to the stage of working with the stars of the industry.
I combined that load of information with my 5,000 hours of directing actors on various sets and casting hundreds of actors in TV, short films and features. I was reviewing a vast amount of information and experiences that most people never have the chance observe.
And finally, I used my own, first-hand experience. You see, I had done just that in my acting career. I went from not knowing a thing about acting to working across from or with such stars as Liam Neeson, Judy Davis, Lance Reddick, John Amos, Akiva Goldsman, Joe Carnahan, Zach Snyder, etc.
Soon a pattern began to reveal itself to me that was undeniable. It was clear there were three stages to reaching this level of success. It was also clear that each stage had it’s own set of actions that had to be taken to overcome specific barriers.
That’s when I came up with THE MAP.
What you see above is the general, overall map. Each of the three stages has a series of steps that get real specific. That is what my seminar is about – the details of the specific successful steps and actions that lead to an actor working with the stars of the industry.
Once you work with the stars, you have a shot at becoming one yourself. Every actor that is a star today first worked with stars as a fairly new actor.
Come to my live stream seminar and learn all about THE MAP explained in full detail by me. For just $10, you can get this hard won information and put it to use for your own acting career.

If you sign up and can’t make the live event, I will send you a link to the recording. There will be a live Q&A session, so do try and make it to the livestream on April 10, 2026.
